From Film Academy to Distribution —A New Chapter Begins
After establishing himself across various facets of the film industry, Deepak Baldev Thakur, the founder of Glitters Film Academy, is now stepping into the world of film distribution.
Through Glitters Film Academy, Deepak has successfully ventured into actor training and celebrity management, while also proving his mettle in production and direction. He is now expanding his horizons into distribution, with an initial focus on Odisha and North India.
With extensive contacts across the Telugu, Tamil and Hindi film industries, Deepak has also been actively involved in negotiating OTT, satellite and Hindi dubbing rights. His strong industry network enables him to facilitate tie-ups between new production houses with Pan-India potential and leading Bollywood production companies.
Deepak brings considerable experience to the table. Apart from producing a Telugu film, he has also directed a Hindi film, giving him an understanding of both the creative and business sides of cinema.
As Glitters Film Academy approaches its Silver Jubilee — 25 years of its journey, Deepak continues to believe that goodwill is more valuable than making quick money. It is this philosophy that has helped him build a distinct identity in the industry over the past quarter century.
With a strong determination to create many more milestones and leave behind a lasting legacy in cinema, Deepak Baldev Thakur has now joined hands with his long-time Mumbai friend Rajesh Singh to launch their Odisha and North India Distribution business.
The duo began their distribution journey with “Mana Shankar Varaprasad Garu” and subsequently tasted success with the re-release of Mahesh Babu’s “Dookudu”, followed by the major success of “Lenin.”
On the occasion of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s birthday, they are gearing up for a grand release of the iconic film “Muta Mestri” across Odisha and North India.
They are also preparing for the Pan-India release of “Karmasthalam,” a big-budget film built around extensive VFX and a strong visual canvas. With experience, industry relationships, creative understanding and a long-standing reputation for goodwill, Deepak Baldev Thakur’s entry into distribution marks an exciting new chapter in his 25-year journey in Indian cinema!!
